Kiba Outdoors

Privacy Policy

Last updated October 12, 2026

The short version: we collect what we need to sell you radios, run giveaways, and send email you asked for. We don't sell your information. If you enter a giveaway we run with partner brands, those brands get your email too. Details below.

1. Who we are and what this covers

Kiba Outdoors, LLC ("Kiba", "we", "us") makes the Kiba Scout mesh radio and the Kiba Go app. This policy explains what we collect when you visit kibaoutdoors.com, buy from us, create an account, enter one of our giveaways, or contact us, and what we do with it.

Purchases are completed on Shopify's checkout at checkout.kibaoutdoors.com. Shopify's own privacy policy also applies to that step and to the payment details you enter there, which we never see in full.

Location, messages, waypoints, and other data the Kiba Go app handles on your phone are described in the app's privacy notice on the App Store and Google Play. This page is about the website.

2. What we collect

  • Contact details you give us: your email address when you sign up for a discount, join our newsletter, enter a giveaway, or contact us; your name, shipping address, and phone number when you order.
  • Order details: what you bought, when, and the order total. Payment card numbers go to Shopify and its payment processors, not to us.
  • Account details: if you create a Kiba account (for the coverage planner, shared routes, or group features), your email and the content you save there.
  • Giveaway entries: your email, whether you entered through a friend's referral link, how many bonus entries you earned, and a hashed version of your IP address that we use only to spot duplicate or automated entries. We never store the IP address itself.
  • How you use the site: pages viewed, buttons tapped, the ad or link that brought you here (UTM parameters and ad click IDs), your rough location from your IP address, and your device and browser type. Some of this is collected by the analytics and advertising tools listed below.

3. How we use it

  • To fill and ship your order, send receipts and shipping updates, and handle returns under our guarantee.
  • To run giveaways: record your entry, credit referrals, pick and notify the winner, and ship the prize.
  • To send marketing email you've agreed to receive: discount codes, new gear, tips, and giveaways. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
  • To answer your questions when you contact us.
  • To understand how the site performs and which ads work, so we can improve both.
  • To keep the site secure and prevent fraud, including fraudulent giveaway entries.

4. Giveaways and partner brands

Some of our giveaways are run together with other outdoor brands who contribute prizes. When you enter one of these co-hosted giveaways online, you agree that we may share your email address with each participating partner brand, and that we and those brands may each send you marketing email.

Each partner brand uses your email under its own privacy policy, and each one honors unsubscribe requests separately. Unsubscribing from Kiba's emails does not unsubscribe you from a partner's, and the reverse is also true. The participating brands for each giveaway are listed on that giveaway's page and in its official rules.

If you would rather enter a giveaway without agreeing to marketing email, every giveaway offers a free mail-in entry method in its official rules. Mail-in entrants' details are used only to run the giveaway and are not shared with partner brands.

If you win, we may publish your first name, last initial, and state, and we may share your shipping address with the partner brand whose prize is shipping to you.

5. Who else sees your information

We don't sell your personal information. We share it with companies that help us run the business, and with giveaway partner brands as described above. Our main providers are:

  • Shopify: store, checkout, payments, and order history.
  • Supabase and Vercel: hosting for the website, accounts, and giveaway entries.
  • Klaviyo: sends our email. Klaviyo also sets a cookie so it can tie site activity to your email after you've subscribed.
  • Meta (Facebook and Instagram): ad measurement. We send Meta a record of actions on the site such as viewing a product or starting checkout, along with your IP address, browser, and a hashed (scrambled) version of your email or a random visitor ID so Meta can match the action to an ad you saw. Meta uses this under its own data policy.
  • Google Analytics: site traffic and behavior statistics.
  • Microsoft Clarity: session recordings and heatmaps so we can see where the site is confusing. Clarity masks anything you type into a form, so emails and addresses are never captured in a recording.
  • Resend: delivers your contact form messages to our inbox.

We may also share information when the law requires it, to enforce our terms, or to protect Kiba, our customers, or others from harm. If Kiba is ever sold or merged, customer information would transfer with the business.

6. Cookies and similar tools

We use cookies and browser storage for three things: remembering your cart, discount, and giveaway status; measuring ads; and analytics. The main ones are:

  • Kiba's own: a random visitor ID (one year), your marketing attribution such as the ad you clicked (30 days), your cart, and whether you've already seen the discount popup or entered the giveaway.
  • Meta Pixel: _fbp and _fbc (90 days) for ad measurement.
  • Google Analytics: _ga cookies (up to two years).
  • Klaviyo: __kla_id (two years).
  • Microsoft Clarity: _clck, _clsk, and related Microsoft cookies (up to one year).

You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings; the site still works, though your cart may not persist. You can also opt out of Meta's ad personalization in your Facebook or Instagram settings, and of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on.

7. How long we keep it

Order records are kept as long as we need them for taxes, returns, and warranty, which is generally seven years. Email subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Giveaway entries are kept for one year after the drawing so we can resolve any disputes, then deleted. Analytics data is kept according to each provider's retention setting, which we keep at or below the provider's default.

8. Your choices and rights

  • Unsubscribe from marketing email with the link at the bottom of any email, or by emailing us.
  • Ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@kibaoutdoors.com from the address in question and we will respond within 30 days. We may keep what the law requires us to keep, such as order records.
  • If you live in California, Colorado, Virginia, Connecticut, Utah, or another state with a consumer privacy law, those rights include access, correction, deletion, and opting out of targeted advertising. Our sharing of site activity with Meta for ad measurement may count as "sharing" for targeted advertising under some of these laws; you can opt out by emailing us or by blocking the Meta Pixel cookies in your browser. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.

9. Children

Our products and giveaways are for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us their information, email us and we'll delete it.

10. Security

Data is encrypted in transit, our databases restrict access by role, and giveaway IP addresses are stored only as one-way hashes. No system is perfectly secure, so if we learn of a breach affecting your information we will tell you as the law requires.

11. Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we'll update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use information you've already given us, we'll email you or post a notice on the site before it takes effect.
